The language of instruction throughout NYU Shanghai is English.? All foreign students, however, must study and become proficient in Mandarin Chinese.
Three unique features define NYU Shanghai’s academic program:
All NYU Shanghai students complete a core curriculum in the liberal arts and sciences that encourages them to explore across disciplines and provides a solid grounding in key subjects before selecting an academic major.
Our majors draw upon the strengths of NYU’s research faculty, departments, and programs, as well as on the opportunities that Shanghai presents.? Students are encouraged to contribute to new ways of thinking about their subjects as they develop original research projects. Find out more about each major.
